Sick and tired of pushover Sansa? Done with watching the leading lady of the Stark clan acquiesce to pushy lords and psychotic family members? Season six is for you.
During EW’s SAG Awards celebration, actress Sophie Turner, 19, said that the upcoming season would be Sansa’s “best season yet.”
“She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves,” Turner elaborated, “and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
The mini tease is music to the ears of fans who’ve watched Sansa pushed around the past five seasons, manipulated like a puppet by a bevy of unhinged males. Last we saw the teen, she’d catapulted herself out of a Winterfell tower in effort to avoid the insane Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) in tow.
Best of all, Turner said that viewers were “finally getting that storyline that you’ve been craving for the past five seasons.”
“It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it’s been building up and up to that. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves,” she concluded.
So, if say, Sansa was to pull a Beatrix Kiddo on Westeros and all the individuals who’ve betrayed her, we would be far from mad.
Game of Thrones season six premieres April 8, 2016.
