Cheryl Burke is backtracking HARD!
On Sunday, Cheryl issued a public apology for controversial comments she made about working with former Dancing With the Stars partner Ian Ziering. The actor appeared with Cheryl during season four of the franchise yet their partnership never made it to finals.
While things seemingly appeared fine between the two during their DWTS stint, it’s now clear Cheryl did NOT have a good time shimmying around with Ian.
This past Saturday, Ms. Burke made a very insensitive remark about Ziering on the Allegedly podcast. In the heat of the moment, the dancer confessed working with I.Z. “made [her] want to slit [her] wrists”.
Yikes. That’s a loaded and very unfortunate statement to make.
Following a wave of backlash, the beauty took to Twitter to deliver an apology to those who struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide. Check out the full message (below):
“I’ve always lived by the rule that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Recently and regrettably, I broke that rule. In the heat of an interview conversation, I used a phrase that seemingly makes light of suicide and I deeply regret it. I have many friends and family members that struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide. To have said something that seemingly makes a mockery of what they’ve gone through and what they live with is something that I apologize for. I never meant to hurt anyone or to trivialize the topic. I was out of line and for that I apologize.”
Well, at least Cheryl gave an honest and very remorseful i’m sorry.
But wait… we don’t see Ian’s name in that post. In fact, we haven’t seen the 31-year-old mention Ziering anywhere since her controversial words! Inneresting…
So, what do YOU think of Cheryl’s apology?
