Earlier this month, A Michigan father was accused of robbing a credit union.
After his arrest, he told police something heartbreaking — that he needed the money to pay for his daughter’s cancer treatments!
On August 12, Brian Randolph allegedly robbed the Vibe Credit Union in South Lyon, Michigan. According to reports, the 23-year-old entered the building and handed over a note that demanded money — and also said that he had a shotgun hidden in his clothes.
After his arrest, Randolph told authorities that the robbery was an act of desperation to help pay for his 1-year-old daughter’s chemotherapy treatments.
The father claimed that his insurance company was no longer paying for the treatments of his daughter Brialynn, who has retinoblastoma, a cancer that forms in the eye.
So sad. But as much as we feel for Randolph and Brialynn, this was simply NOT the way to fix things!
Randolph claims he didn’t actually bring a gun with him during the robbery, but has still been charged with armed robbery and has a bond set at $500,000!
