That’s just not cool.

On Friday, George Clooney revealed that Hello! magazine published an “exclusive interview” that he never actually had with them.

In the concocted conversation the glossy ran, the gorgeous guy allegedly talked about how often he uses social media — even though he doesn’t actually have any Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts — as well as his relationship with Amal Clooney.

However, the actor said in a statement that the whole thing was completely made up, explaining:

Hello Magazine has printed an ‘EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW’ with me that has been widely picked up and reprinted. Outlets like Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, The Sun, and The Evening Standard have all printed my exclusive interview and credited Hello Magazine. The problem is that I have not given an interview to Hello Magazine and the quotes attributed to me are not accurate. In my experience, being misquoted is not unusual but to have an “exclusive interview” completely fabricated is something new. And a very disturbing trend.”

Hello! has since taken down the story, which means it doesn’t seem like George will sue.

Apparently, the so-called interview was actually just a bunch of different quotes and comments the mag must’ve strung together from press conferences and other sources.
