Glenn's Last Words to Maggie on 'The Walking Dead' Prove That Love Never Dies
AMC

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere contained the most harrowing series of events we’ve ever witnessed play out on television.

It would be no surprise, then, if you focused a little more on Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) passing than the four powerful words he uttered as he succumbed to Negan and his hellish bat Lucille:

“I will find you.”

As we interpreted it, the sentence was meant for Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Glenn’s longtime lover and mother to his unborn child; a hasty parting the ever-selfless character threw together so perfectly that will undoubtedly mean everything to Maggie as she continues on without him.

Cohan shared her own interpretation of the sweet words during Sunday’s live show The Talking Dead, a cast reunion where the show’s actors discuss the previous season and what’s to come.

“In this life or the next,” Cohan said. “They’re star-crossed lovers. ‘I’ll find you, I’ll be with you, I’ll watch over you. I’ll be there.'”

Brutal.

For obvious reasons, this particular Talking Dead was especially profound. The cast said goodbye to Yeun, actor Michael Cudlitz (who played Abraham), and reminisced of good times past.

As Zimbio previously reported, Yeun himself was in support of Glenn’s death, considering it a perfectly appropriate way for such a selfless person to go out:

“He dies in such a Glenn way,” Yeun said. “Still not thinking about himself. It’s important the he puts those final words out as a way of saying, ‘Look out for one another.'”

That’s cool. We’ll just be looking out for Maggie’s knife in Negan’s back.
