Good Guy Netflix, Best Network Ever, Picks Up 'The Little Prince' Movie After Paramount Drops It
Onyx Films

Beloved children’s tale The Little Prince is coming to the U.S. after all.

Paramount, who originally owned the rights to the film adaptation of author Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s novel, discreetly canceled its March theatrical release for unknown reasons. Now, The Hollywood Reporter says Netflix has picked up where Paramount left off and will stream it for their own subscribers later this year.

Having originally premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May of 2015, the stop-motion animation has seen widespread success in France and other international locations.

Armed with an all-star cast, Netflix subscribers are sure to love it; Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Benicio del Toro, Jeff Bridges, and Mario Cotillard all lend their voices to the story’s characters.

The trailer below highlights some of the film’s best moments — it’s absolutely gorgeous.

No word yet on when exactly Netflix will offer streaming access, but it looks entirely worth the wait.
