From U.S. founding fathers to undersea princesses, Lin-Manuel Miranda is doing it all.
Hamilton has become an absolute must-see for Broadway enthusiasts since its NYC release in 2015. In 2016, it received 11 Tony awards, nearly defeating the record for most Tonys awarded to a single production in history.
Menken, who won two Oscars for his work on Disney’s original animated Little Mermaid, will assist Miranda in writing the new film’s songs. Miranda will also team up with seasoned producer Marc Platt.
Miranda is sure to do the film justice, given he named his 1-year-old son Sebastian after the story’s loyal crab.
The Little Mermaid has already cast Neighbors 2 actress Chloe Grace Moretz in the role of Ariel, but the film is still in its early stages.
One thing we do know? The new Ariel could be blonde.
