Just a few days after Kate Middleton’s first public appearance after announcing the birth of her and Prince William’s third child, Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance at a children’s charity event at London’s Paddington train station alongside her husband, Prince Harry, and Paddington Bear (who adorably took Middleton for an impromptu twirl around the platform).

For the fun occasion, Middleton chose a pink sheath dress by Irish designer Orla Kiely, which she paired with timeless black pumps. The pretty dress is sold out, but its most flattering feature can easily be copied: a contrasting band at the waist. The black band on Middleton’s dress effortlessly accentuates and draws the eye to the smallest part of her waist, but the same effect can also be achieved with a waist belt, which is one of this season’s biggest accessory trends.
