This 'Walking Dead' Fan Theory Might Be Far-Fetched, or Genius
AMC

**Spoilers for The Walking Dead lie ahead.**

Watch The Walking Dead closely and you’ll spot many easter eggs, hidden references, and you’ll also see some foreshadowing if you rewatch the series. So it’s with no surprise that the show is one of the best on TV for fans to speculate about and guess what’ll happen next.

Last Sunday’s episode, titled “Service,” has some fans wondering about a certain scene in particular. When Negan and the Saviors visit Alexandria to steal everyone’s stuff, they bring Daryl along too. And one shot in particular shows him blinking rapidly in close-up, leading some to wonder if he’s trying to communicate silently to Rick with Morse code.

Taken on its own, there seems little evidence to suggest Daryl is doing anything other than blinking. But then there was this in the episode also:

Prominently featured inside the house Rick, Michonne, and Carl are living in is an American Morse code chart, something unseen on the show in the past. If you match up Daryl’s blinks with the code, he seems to be saying “4 east” or “I east.” That could be “Hwy 4 east,” “Interstate East” or “I’m east,” or something “east.” If true, it would appear Daryl is trying to give Rick the direction to the Saviors’ complex, called the Sanctuary.

This would be big, and it makes a lot of sense. Morse code was mentioned on the show in the past and it fits perfectly in these early days of Negan’s reign since everyone is terrified. Time will reveal if it’s true.
